Plano ISD still has high quality special ed services from personal knowledge. My spouse has worked in several areas of special ed in Plano ISD for many years. I also support the prior recommendations to check out Scottish Rite. Check out private schools like Shelton as part of being thorough, but also talk to and visit the special ed programs of several major school districts – Plano, Frisco, etc.

You hopefully will find you get entirely satisfactory services in public schools thus saving your family a bunch of private school tuition. Souleido, Day-in and day-out I hear the war stories from my spouse re the often difficult cases Plano ISD and its special education department deal with.

Plano ISD does not scrimp on special ed services, including those devoted to dyslexia. By the way it’s spelled “dyslexia” and not “dislexia” as you have stated several times in your posts.

Every child’s case regarding special ed services is unique. Pepper, Thanks for the correction. Nola11 is the OP to whom I should have directed my dyslexia comments. Thanks for the suggestions. I have fully researched all private schools. Shelton chooses to give small scholarships across the board as opposed to large amounts to a few, per the admissions lady. She was evaluated by a Lindamood Bell center in another state and saw terrific results she read at a kindergarten level in 2nd grade, attended for a year, one on one with an instructor, and was reading at an 8th grade level by the end of 3rd grade – she used their Seeing Stars program.

Dyslexia programs in public schools in Dallas area. I believe the MTA program is one of the best when it is taught the way it is intended to be taught.
