That, dear reader, was not what happened. After halftime, the Panthers got a touchdown, a field goal, and another touchdown to take a lead.

Thankfully, the UNC offense has been up to the task. Omarion Hampton took it in from 58 yards in the final seconds of the third quarter to bring the Tar Heels back even. Hampton punched it in from two yards out halfway through the fourth quarter to put UNC up for good.

That was the only scoring done in the entire fourth quarter. Drake Maye threw for yards and two touchdowns with one interception. Hampton and DJ Jones were responsible for the touchdowns on the ground. As has been the case so far this season, Maye did a good job of spreading the ball around to his receivers with Josh Downs missing this game with an injury as well. Last week, penalties plagued the Heels all game. They were much more disciplined this time around, being called for just four penalties for 50 yards.

Unfortunately, they made up for the improvement there by turning the ball over three times. UNC football has already notched two wins and quarterback Drake Maye is the top passer in the country with yards and nine touchdowns. The Tar Heels will take their powerful offense and not-so-much defense to Atlanta on Saturday to meet Georgia State in the second half of a home-and-home series.

Jones had six carries on the nine-play drive, picking up 31 yards rushing plus four more on a reception. Freshman Kobe Paysour makes a diving catch over the outside shoulder in the corner of the end zone on a yard reception.

On the previous play, the freshman caught a yard pass and bounced off a hard hit to get the first down. Chris Byrd makes his first career TD reception on a 6-yard play to complete an play, 75 yard drive. Kaimon Rucker gets to Grainger for a loss of 1 yard on third down.
